To move participants from homelessness to permanent, stable, and affordable housing by providing transitional and permanent housing and comprehensive supportive services in a culturally competent and sensitive manner.
For all residents and their families in the District of Columbia to live in safe, stable, and affordable housing where they can enjoy healthy and prosperous lives.
DC Doors was founded in 2011 on the belief that housing is a human right and that every individual deserves to be seen, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
We help thousands of families and single individuals break the cycle of poverty and homelessness each year by providing supportive programs in an understanding and culturally sensitive environment.
Our core programs include a 24-hour youth drop-in center, and permanent supportive housing (case management). Additionally, DC Doors provides workforce development through the SNAP Employment & Training Program.
We serve a racially and linguistically diverse population, offering services in more than seven languages. Our bilingual staff includes native speakers of Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese. We continue to expand our capacity to serve diverse populations while maintaining high standards for cultural competency.
Zoe's Drop-in Center is D.C.'s only 24/7 youth drop-in center. At the center, DC Doors empowers individuals ages 18-24 through various programs, including life-skills education, workforce development training, and extended housing.
